G-Town Sounds started with Craig Brown. Craig wasn't born on the Island, but the day he arrived he knew his heart was home. He came to Galveston to retire; instead he found a community he wanted to serve — first through community organizations, then in elected office, and ultimately six years as Mayor of Galveston. Along the way he learned what Galvestonians prize most: open conversation about the place they love, and an island energy you can't find anywhere else.
So Craig brought together the two things he loves — music and conversation — and imagined a free radio station that lets residents and visitors carry that G-Town feeling wherever they go. With the technical expertise of his good friend David Landriault of Falcontail Marketing & Design, the idea became the station you're listening to now.
Today G-Town Sounds is Galveston's own radio station — island music, island voices, and interviews on all things Galveston, streaming free from right here at home to anywhere you are. Beach Boys to Marley, first light on the harbor to golden hour on the seawall: the sound of a working island that's been singing for almost two hundred years. Independent, homegrown, and made to be turned up.
